The Book of Kells is an illuminated manuscript of the
four gospels. In it the evangelist John is
depicted as a four-winged eagle. The gospel motif
of light and darkness.
The Celts believed that the eagle,
alone of all living creatures, could look into the sun
and not be dazzled. The eagle always symbolises
magnificence, nobility and perseverance - staying true
to the cause regardless of any obstacles or
difficulties. This is a truly radiant creation,
may it inspire you to persevere through challenging
times.
